Ride for Hate… Er, I mean Heart.

This morning a bunch of us went on the 50K Ride For Heart – I don’t think any of us went all out on the fundraising but we did put together $800 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation which isn’t all that bad, every little bit counts. Let’s be honest here, I think we all really just wanted the opportunity to ride on the highway without getting flattened.

Like father like son – Chuck Hammell ain’t no joke!

Note: Brooks saddles are NOT good for long hauls. BTW? where’s the spandex bahd?

Ha! Glad I don’t have a Brooks. Sean rode the whole thing on a new Brooks and didn’t complain once… but he kind of walked like he just got home from the big house later on…
The Spandex are underneath – the padding was good but I’m pretty sure that the tightness caused my girlie bits to lose circulation at several points along the ride.

Unbroken in Brooks = fits like The Violator
Broken in Brooks = fits like a glove
Just found your site via the TorontoFixed thread on BikeForums. Nice to find more like-minded folks in the city.

It was such a relief to get going southbound!
That climb was quite the grind.
I was so glad that there were no diaper changes needed, and no crying for the whole ride!

[...] Last year’s ride was a total blast so if you’re interested in joining up and doing the ride with us, just go to http://www.rideforheart.ca and during the registration process you’ll be asked if you’d like to “Join a Group or Corporate Team” – select that option and then select Freedom Haters Bicycle Club from the drop down menu – hopefully we’ll see you there! [...] For the second year in a row; myself and some of the FHBC took to the highway for the Ride For Heart – it would have been nice if more could have made it out but due to travel, work schedules and one of us living in the UK some had to give the ride a pass but we hated some serious freedom (and some headwinds) for our homies that had to sit this one out.
